Absolutely.  However, we find that often it does not work out as intended by customers who "go it alone."  Some of the issues we routinely see are poor planning, financial difficulties, familial disputes, immigration issues, and finally business challenges.  It is a weekly occurence to see another non Thai return back home to their origin country either losing their money and or getting into legal trouble.  We also short cut the process by many years of effort, and set you up for success in the Kingdom well before you land.

On average:

  • Rent: $300–$1,500/month
  • Food: $200–$600/month
  • Utilities & Internet: $50–$150/month
We provide detailed cost-of-living breakdowns and budget planning for all clients.

While many Thais speak basic English in urban areas, knowing some Thai greatly enhances your experience. We offer language support services and can connect you with local language schools or private tutors.  As part of the planning process, we usually recommend you learn and study at least basic Thai before your arrival in Thailand.  This will make the jump much easier and enjoyable for all parties.  That being said, there is a huge number of non-Thais who live here that do not speak Thailand and manage quite well.

Thailand has excellent private hospitals, especially in Bangkok and major cities. We strongly recommend private health insurance for expats. We can help you compare and choose the right insurance plan based on your age, needs, and visa requirements.  Living in Thailand without health insurace is risky, and we see cases of foreigners routinely getting injured in motorbike or other accidents without proper insurance.  This makes their repatriation back to their homeland difficult, stressful and financially draining.  Do not make the same mistake.

Absolutely.  Retirement in Thailand is a serious alternative to retirement in the U.S., especially if you have limited savings.  While not as cheap as it was 30 years ago, Thailand is still very reasonably priced.  In addition, you have world class restaurants, golf courses, beaches and nightlife.  Learn to speak some Thai and interact like a local!
